Parneet Gill is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon with a specialist interest in skin cancer, laser surgery and facial aesthetic surgery. Her NHS practice is based at St Helen's Hospital - part of the Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - where she undertakes specialist Mohs surgery for skin cancers in the first plastic surgery-led Mohs units in the UK. She undertakes complex facial surgery with a niche interest in oculoplastic reconstruction, having completed an oculoplastic fellowship in Queens Hospital Ophthalmology Unit, Nottingham.
Her laser practice deals with tertiary referrals for many skin concerns, including acne scarring, vascular malformations, hair removal, burns scarring, keloid/hypertrophic scarring, congenital lesions, benign lesions, rhinophyma and tattoo removal.
She offers an alternative treatment to surgery for appropriately triaged patients with Basal Cell Carcinomas (skin cancers), involving laser treatment and photodynamic light therapy, one of two centres that undertakes this unique treatment in the UK. This treatment is undertaken after full discussion of the case in a specialist skin cancer multidisciplinary meeting for the Cheshire and Merseyside region.
Amongst her repertoire of skills, she undertakes intralesional cryotherapy for complex keloid scars that have exhausted other options of management. These cases are tertiary referrals, with some cases requiring general anaesthetic due to the size of the recurrent keloid scar.
Ms Gill’s private practice involves skin rejuvenation using laser treatment, offering a stepping stone before undergoing surgical procedures. These are offered alongside skin care regimes to maximise the improvement for each patient.
She offers upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), open brow lift, facelift and neck lift procedures. The majority of her procedures are performed under local anaesthetic (with the patient awake) with some performed under general anaesthetic (with the patient asleep).
Ms Gill graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 2007 and completed her postgraduate surgical training in plastic surgery centres in Birmingham, London, Scotland and Merseyside. She completed subspeciality fellowships in oculoplastic surgery at Queens Hospital Ophthalmology Unit in Nottingham, laser observership at Morriston Hospital Swansea Laser Unit, Mohs and laser TIG fellowship at STHK NHS Trust and Aesthetic training within the North West Plastic surgery rotation.
International observerships and fellowships undertaken in Toronto General Hospital, Buncke Clinic San Francisco, Middlemore Hospital New Zealand, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA Los Angeles, Texas Tech University Texas and Gandhi Hospital Panjab India.
